Massimo Santucci and Victims of Violence Association
The European Association of Victims of Violence plays a leading role in the presentation of Massimo Santucci’s book, “The Courage from Which Everything Begins”, which arrives in his hometown of Massa. After institutional presentations in Rome and Bern, the author brings his story back to the place where it all started, offering a moment of reflection, culture, and solidarity.
An Event Dedicated to Memory and Courage
The event is scheduled for March 11 at 6:15 PM in the Diocesan Library of the Diocese of Massa Carrara-Pontremoli, located at Via dei Colli 2. During the evening, the author will converse with Silvana Cannoni, coordinator of LaAV – Circolo Letture ad Alta Voce of Massa.
Selected passages from the book will be read by Maria Martino and Massimo Norti, while the musical accompaniment will be provided by Carlo Del Nero, making the evening a cultural and engaging experience for the audience.
The Commitment of the European Association of Victims of Violence
The European delegation of victims of violence will take center stage at the event, with the German representation led by Anna Weber, head of the European Association of Victims of Violence in Germany. The Association promotes symbolic projects of memory and awareness, such as the creation of a new bench between Laufenburg Italy–Switzerland and Laufenburg Germany, as a testament to the commitment against all forms of violence.
During the presentation in Bern, Knight Angela Maria Fruzzetti and city councilor Daniele Tarantino presented Diana Forte with a small red bench, symbolizing the fight against violence toward women. This initiative is closely linked to the work of the European Association of Victims of Violence, which unites culture, memory, and social commitment.
Previous Presentations: Rome and Bern
Santucci’s book was initially presented at the Chamber of Deputies in Rome, during a press conference promoted by MP Simone Billi. On March 5, the book was also presented at the Italian Embassy in Bern, in the presence of the Chargé d’Affaires Diana Forte and Dr. Fabrizio Grasso, along with numerous guests from Italy and Switzerland.
Massa, a Symbolic Location
On March 11, in Massa, the presentation will be opened with greetings from the Bishop of the Diocese of Massa Carrara-Pontremoli, Mons. Mario Vaccari. It will be an opportunity to celebrate the courage and resilience recounted in the book and to strengthen ties with the local community.
Proceeds from the book will go to the Diocese of Massa Carrara-Pontremoli to support community activities, while the European Association of Victims of Violence will continue to promote symbolic projects and awareness initiatives in the region.
