Inauguration of the First Red Bench in Bern

In the picturesque setting of Monbijou Park in Bern, a significant event left an indelible imprint on the community. The Catholic Church of the Berne region, in collaboration with the Catholic Italian Language Mission and the European Association of Victims of Violence (AEVV), inaugurated the first Red Bench, a powerful symbol against violence, with the valuable contribution of prominent figures including City Councilwoman Marieke Kruit, Don Antonio Grasso, Massa Local Police Commander Giuliano Vitali, and AEVV President Massimo Santucci.

The Red Bench, strategically placed in the heart of Monbijou Park, represents a symbolic place of reflection and solidarity. This joint project between religious bodies, local institutions, and committed organizations testifies to the unity of the Bern community in opposing violence and providing a tangible refuge for those in need.
