Football and solidarity at the AEVV tournament
A morning of football, friendship and remembrance that brought together institutions, law enforcement and citizens.
The five-a-side charity football tournament organised by the European Association of Victims of Violence (AEVV), chaired by Massimo Santucci, drew a great turnout. Once again, the pitch became a meeting place for everyone who believes in solidarity and respect.
The teams taking part were the European National Team of Victims of Violence, led by technical manager Stefano Della Pina, a team of City Councillors, a Guardia di Finanza side and a local Massa team. For the occasion, the National Team wore its new kits donated by ABM Sport for the very first time.
Also attending the tournament was Roberto Acerbo, Sports Councillor of the Municipality of Massa, who opened the day with a speech.
A minute for Luca
The day opened with a minute of silence in memory of Luca Del Moretto, an officer of the Massa Local Police who passed away at 53. A father of two with eighteen years of service, he was known and respected by all for his professionalism and kindness. Flowers were presented in his memory.
Supporting "Dal Libro alla Solidarietà"
The proceeds of the day went to the volunteer association "Dal Libro alla Solidarietà" (From Books to Solidarity). By collecting, donating and reusing second-hand books, the association funds humanitarian projects and community initiatives, including its charity bookshops in Massa, Carrara and Fivizzano. During the day, Massimo Santucci reminded everyone how a book, through the stories and experiences it shares, can help people grow and strengthen community spirit. At the end of the day, all participants received a gift of books from the association.
The award ceremony
After the matches, Councillor Roberto Acerbo and Carmine Mezzacappa, head of the association "Dal Libro alla Solidarietà", presented awards to all the participating teams and the referees, in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
